The Hare and the Tortoise

One day, a fast hare challenged somebody, anybody for a race. Nobody wanted to race him, because he was the fasted out of the whole farm. In the end, a old, wise tortoise challenged the hare. The hare laughed and said, “You will never be able to beat me!”

Even though everyone thought that the hare was going to win, they started the race. The Hare was off and the tortoise started slowly. When the hare had got to a hill around the corner from the finish line, he decided to have a small sleep. After he had sleep for some time, he woke and saw the tortoise still only past the first corner so he sleep for longer.

After a long time, the tortoise got to the hare but he was still fast asleep. The tortoise keep going of course very slowly. When the tortoise was in sight of the finish line, the hare woke up and looked back to see the tortoise, he was nowhere to be seen.

He then looked forward and saw the tortoise nearly over the finish line with everyone cheering. The hare jumped up and started to run. He ran as fast as he could but it was too late. The tortoise crossed the finish line just as he was coming up to it. The tortoise had won!

I like this story because it proves that you can do anything even if you are the youngest, or the oldest, or the slowest.
