Hansel and Gretel Review

Title: Hansel & Gretel
Author: Brothers Grimm
Characters (names, personalities, strengths, weaknesses):
Hansel: P: Smart, S: great at comfortating his sister.
Gretel: P:Smart, S: Tricking, W: Being alone somewhere cold and scary.
Stepmother P: Mean, cruel, S: Getting her way with her husband, W: Not getting her way.
Woodcutter/Dad P: Kind, S: Cutting Wood, W: His wife.
Witch P: Mean, S: Eating children, W: Being tricked easily and not thinking properly.


Setting (Where is the story set. Describe the place in detail): 
The story is set in the forest. Hansel and Gretel’s house in near the forest. The witch’s house is in the middle of a glade in the forest. Nearly the whole story is somewhere in the forest.

What was the problem? 
Hansel and Gretel are forced to go into the forest because of their mean and cruel stepmother. They are lost in the forest by themselves and they find a house made out of candy but don’t know that a witch owns the house, not until they go in. They are stuck in the house with the witch waiting to kill and eat them.

What was the solution?
Gretel tricked the witch into touching the oven where Gretel. The witch was dead and they were free. They were back to their house where their stepmother was dead and lived happily ever after.


My favourite part of the story was?
When Gretel started to trick the witch.


What was the Moral of the Story?
Talk to your family about your problems, instead of getting rid of them.
